The cocktail was created during the Prohibition Era in the 1920s in the U.S. It was made by adding orange juice to a bad bottle of alcohol that had been sold through black market channels and was not very drinkable on its own. As an arrangement, add 1 dash of Angostura Aromatic Bitters for a firmer, drier taste.
