Step 1Pour benedictine into a shot glass.
Step 2With the back of a bar spoon in the glass, pour the brandy in a layer over the benedictine.
The name is an acronym for the ingredients brandy and benedictine. This cocktail is high in alcohol content but soft on the palate, sweet and moist. Drinking it all in one gulp, it has a softer sweetness than the on-the-rocks style, since it is not chilled with ice. Pousse cafe style, but the color of both ingredients is about the same, so the layers from the outside are hard to discern.
