Apple brandy made from apples produced in the Normandy region of France. It has a mellow aroma derived from apples and a fruity, refreshing acidity. Only those made in and around Calvados in Normandy can call themselves "Calvados". Calvados is one of the world's three great brandies, along with Cognac and Armagnac.
